Velji Ratna Sorathia Infra Pvt. Ltd. (VRSIPL) has successfully commissioned the Waghodia Water Supply Augmentation Scheme for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), delivering the project 45 days ahead of the contractual date. The scheme is now fully operational, providing clean potable water to approximately 85,000 residents in Vadodara.
Project Details
The scheme involved construction of a new overhead storage reservoir (7.5 ML capacity), a 3.2 km rising main, and a distribution network of 28 km covering 14 wards. Aged CI pipes were replaced with modern ductile iron (DI) pipes to reduce burst frequency.
Technical Highlights
Pipeline laying through densely populated corridors required horizontal directional drilling (HDD) at six critical crossings, completed with zero disruption to surface traffic. Zero Lost Time Injuries were recorded throughout the project.
Client Appreciation
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation formally appreciated VRSIPL for early completion. The VMC Commissioner noted that timely delivery before the summer season ensured uninterrupted water supply during peak demand months.
Track Record
This is the 18th water infrastructure project VRSIPL has completed for Gujarat government bodies, adding to a portfolio that includes bulk supply mains, sewage treatment plants, and stormwater drainage across Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch, and Anand.
